Legal Week Hong Kong
Lawyers participated in the recording of legal videos to present their legal knowledge in various scenarios. The public can watch the videos on our social media platforms such as Facebook, Instagram and Youtube. The event demonstrated Hong Kong`s close connection to the world as the city took full advantage of its common law system under “One Country, Two Systems” and cemented its leading status as an international legal and dispute resolution centre in the Asia-Pacific region. Free community lectures on daily legal topics aim to introduce the public to everyday legal topics. Volunteer lawyers share their expertise to enhance the public`s legal knowledge. Under the motto “Fighting the pandemic with the power of legal knowledge,” Law Week 2020 is committed to caring for the social well-being of the public while promoting legal literacy. During the free legal aid program, a team of volunteer lawyers provides legal advice to the general public on legal issues on a wide range of topics. Singapore remains a popular hub for international businesses and it is likely that more offices will open there. Hong Kong Legal Week 2022 successfully concluded today as the Ministry of Justice`s flagship annual event. The Rule of Law Congress: Rule of Law and Justice for All took place today as the closing of Hong Kong Legal Week. Chief Executive John Lee, Chief Justice Andrew Cheung and Attorney General Paul Lam made their remarks at the opening session. A total of 27 foreign speakers and guests came from the “three sisters” of private international law — the International Institute for the Unification of Private Law (UNIDROIT), the Hague Conference on Private International Law and the United Nations Commission on International Trade Law — as well as from Japan, the Association of South-East Asian Nations and others.
