Kansas Legal Services is a statewide nonprofit organization that helps low-income Kansans meet their basic needs by providing basic legal services, mediation, and employment training. Free or low-cost services are available to Kansas residents who are involved in civil cases and meet eligibility criteria for income, case type, and other criteria such as age or district of residence. Kansas Legal Services, Inc. has a policy to provide legal advice to eligible persons on the basis of race, colour, religion, sex, national origin, age, disability, marital status, sexual orientation, political affiliation or other considerations prohibited by law. Advice is provided by telephone through a Kansas Legal Services attorney. Please ask the clerk of the local district court for the telephone number of the advice hotline. The hotline serves all Kansas residents 60 years of age or older, regardless of income.
